Hello! The idea has been settled for souveniers, we're going with the candle carving one :)
So we'll be carving invest theme, guest school name, 310309, thank you, CGSSC on the candle, like top bottom one side other side. Because customising it plus it's hand- carved shows our sincerity hehe, and also other ideas like no.2 has been used by other schools from previous years. Yup it's the cheapest, and its not that hard to carve either.
We tried it already, and it looks okay
In total it costs $26.10, so we have alot from our budget left. We'll continue with everything after sec 3's common tests. Good luck everybody :)

Invest souveniers!

Hey :) These are our ideas for the invest souveniers!

1) We got this idea based on our theme, so we'll be using candles and lights. Try to visualise this: a candle in a 'wine glass' candle holder. The glass would be painted, so it'll look like 'stained glass'. Theme + school name would be painted/written/attached on/to it :D

$9.90/24 a pack, the problem is we need 25 so we're short of 1 -.-
So we'll put this candle, in the glass holder

We can't find any right now, the budget is $5 for glass paint. The budget's really tight because the glass is kind of expensive.
If anyone knows how much it costs and where to get cheap good ones please tell Rosemund/Laila/Elin asap thanks. If not we're probably getting it from art friend. Oh and if any of you have ideas of what we should paint/ what design, do tell us too.

For the GOH/P, we're getting this.
Costs $9.90, lantern for tealight. height 21cm, inclusive of candles. And we'll add in details and decorations etc.

2) A cheaper alternative, we'll get small candle holders + small candles. Same candles, $9.90/24

GALEJ $3.90/3 a pack, same with the glass paint idea. Its really cheap, cos we'll have $158.90
left for glass paint/deco etc. :O

3) Even cheaper idea, we get thick big tall candles and we carve on them,like theme, school, invest etc. If you guys have any suggestions to improve this, do tell us!

burning 45 hours (!!!!) $3.90 each. In total if we buy 25, it costs $97.50. So there's alot remaining, for goh deco and stuff.

If this it too big,
CHEAPEST IDEA! Quite fat but not as fat as the first one! $2.90/ 4 a pack, its shorter but as thick. It costs $17.40 for 24 (left 1..) and we're left with a WHOOPING sum of $182.60 for the rest! Very cheap, but we don't have any ideas/design for the carving currently, so please tell us :)

5th idea- Do something with matchsticks. One of the ideas, form an Olympic torch with matchsticks/fake matchsticks/ burnt matchsticks?
but matchsticks are flammable, and not practical :(
So its rejected.

To sum it all up,
1st idea (candle in wine thing) $175.50
2nd idea (same idea, but smaller size) $41.10
3rd idea (carving big one)- $97.50
4th idea (carving small one) - $17.40
GOH x2- $19.80
Glass paint- Whatever's remaining in the budget

All from IKEA, the sale doens't cover these. Well some ideas are very cost-efficient, but we do want our souveniers to be nice as well, because we're all giving out to guests :)

Crez Awards 09

Hey everyone! Just to let you all have a look at some of the things to be improved for next year's Crez Awards (Sec2s take note ok!)

What went wrong during Crez Awards

1. Smoke machine
2. People running up the stage to & fro
3. Gate closing during intermission
4. Cannot make spirits high
5. Closing of curtains not coordinated
6. Many technical problems (Eg. Mike)
7. Instructions not check/ not followed
8. Messy council room
9. Not as exciting as 2009 (From Cynthia)
10. Taufik did not mention he was singing
11. Borrowing contestants
12. Management of guests
13. Poor councillors provided with no chairs
14. No photos taken
15. Lights not as good as previous years
16. Quality of participants
17. Include stand-up comedy
18. Lack of councillors in the hall
19. Better food at better time
20. Ticket sales > Stagger tickets next year
21. Have staircase in front of stage be removed to prevent people from climbing up to stage to hug participants and interrupt the show
    

What went right during Crez Awards

1. Compliments from Principal, she liked the theme very much.
2. Good opening of the scene from Phantom of the Opera. > By Yitong & Alyssa
